A memorial service for Steffy Branstetter, 75, a 48-year Carson City resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Branstetter died Dec. 11, 2006, in Elko, of complications due to cancer. She was born July 13, 1931, in Hamburg, Germany, to Siegfried and Paula Steffen.
She was a real estate broker and land developer of Mark Twain Estates and other subdivisions. She owned and operated Tahoe-Carson Realty since 1959.
Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. Branstetter lived in Pennsylvania, Washington, Japan and California. She traveled by motor home for many years.
She was a charter member of the local Board of Realtors. She became a pilot in 1958.
She enjoyed flying, rescuing animals, writing songs and poetry, drawing, gardening, cooking and raising bobcats for zoos.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Branstetter Jr., in 1992; son Charles H. Branstetter III in 1991; and brother Rolf Steffen in 2002.
Among her survivors are her husband Martin Ehmann; daughters Joyce Buckner of San Dieg, and Renee O'Keefe of Carson City; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
