Frank Ward, 79, a Carson City resident since 1998, died Dec. 12, 2006, in Carson City.
Mr. Ward was born Nov. 12, 1927, in California, to Harry Ward and Helen Gallagher.
He was a member of Carson City United Methodist Church, where he served in the Stephen ministry, was a servant leader of small groups, and was a member of the gathering team; and the Reno Christian Fellowship, where he served as pastor of the singles group and led the divorce recovery group.
He enjoyed traveling, dogs, tennis and table tennis, having participated in the Senior Olympics table tennis tournament. He was a fan of the Dodgers and USC.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Ward; brother Harry Ward; sisters Helen Jean Galvin, Dorothy Elcano, Barbara Wileman and Lura Mathews; and by nephew Jeff Elcano.
Among his survivors are his wife of eight years, Kay Ward, of Carson City; sons and daughters-in-law Gary and Crystal Tuckett, and Frank and Leona Ward, all of Reno; son John Cooley of Portland, Ore.; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Patrick Earle and Lynn and Rob Moore, all of Reno; daughter Debbie Camp of Roseburg, Ore.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
