Officers and staff from the Department of Public Safety-Nevada Capitol Police on Monday presented officials of the Eagle Valley Children's Home with 30 new bicycles.

"This is our fifth year with this project and it continues to grow every year," said Capitol Police Chief Brad Valladon.

Cpl. Randy Smith organized the project this year and said along with each bike comes a helmet.

In addition, he said, state employees this year donated 30 blankets and 30 pair of gloves to go along with the bicycles.

The Wal-Mart store in Douglas County donated nine of the bikes and gave officers a day of tax-free shopping to help reduce the costs, Valladon said.

Donna Clark of the children's home took delivery of the bikes and other gifts at the Capitol.
