A Carson City man posted bail Wednesday after he allegedly drunkenly drove his vehicle into an occupied women's fitness center Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured.
"And when I say the vehicle was in the business, I mean it was inside the business. If the business still had doors, you could have shut them behind the Dodge," wrote Deputy Bob Guimont in the arrest report for Royal Jesse Vrenon, 58.
Vrenon was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of East Winnie Lane on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving and felony destruction of property.
According to the arrest report, he was drinking at the Crossroads Lounge prior to getting into his Dodge sedan.
Guimont stated that when he contacted the driver inside Curves For Women at 272 E. Winnie Lane, Vrenon was standing next to his vehicle looking inside. He allegedly told Guimont he had been drinking at the lounge prior to the accident and "could not live with himself if he had injured or killed anyone."
He posted a $10,000 bail on Wednesday afternoon and was released from custody.
The gym was closed and will not reopen until Tuesday, "due to recent circumstances," a sign on the gym's door read Wednesday.
