A funeral for Ronald Lee Simpson, 75, a 60-year resident of Topaz, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Antelope Valley United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at the service.
Mr. Simpson died Dec. 21, 2006, in Gardnerville. He was born May 18, 1931, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John L. Simpson and Fayetta Franklin.
Before moving to Topaz, Mr. Simpson lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He graduated from Coleville High School in Coleville, Calif.
He was a longtime rancher and served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Albert and Mable Roberts; and brother George Roberts.
Among his survivors are daughters and sons-in-law Rochelle and Larry Sell of Gardnerville and Vickie and Ed Sanders of Reno; daughter Genny Simpson of Dayton; son Ron Simpson Jr. of Reno; sisters Barbara of Seattle, Wash., and Linda of Reno; and three grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Antelope Valley Cemetery.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
