Multi-car pileup reported at Highway 50 and Cave Rock

The westbound lanes of Highway 50 at Cave Rock have been closed after an 11-car pileup that happened around 3:40 p.m. Injuries are reported and Care Flight, a medical transport helicopter, has been summoned, along with ambulances.

Traffic is being rerouted by using the eastbound lanes but motorists can expect delays.

Deputies report both lanes of Highway 50 are icy. Motorists should be prepared to take an alternative route, such as Highway 207 up Kingsbury Grade.
