Double vision affected Fallon like it has the other teams in Northern 4A this season.

Long-time Greenwave nemesis Cailtin Crofts and Caitlin Anderson combined for 39 points Saturday to lead Galena to a 58-30 High Desert League win in Fallon.

With the win, Galena (21-4 overall, 10-0 in league) captured this year's league title with two games remaining against Manogue and Elko. Fallon (4-16, 2-8) has two road games remaining at Reed and Mangoue.

"We came out, and everyone was moving," Galena coach Karen Friel said.

She was pleased with here team's play on both ends of the court and how the players executed their cuts and moves.

Crofts and Anderson, though, worked the Greenwave defense over for four quarters. While Crofts worked the perimeter for four 3-pointers, Anderson performed most of her damage from inside the key. Crofts led all scorers with 24 points, and Anderson added 15.

"If we get hot and with Crofts and Anderson scoring like that, we're a pretty good team on some days," Friel said.

Fallon coach Chelle Dalager said her players came out flat after the team recognized its six seniors and parents prior to the opening tipoff.

"Defensively, we didn't come together until the fourth quarter," Dalager said.

Galena, though, jumped on the Lady Wave quickly. Galena scored two baskets off turnovers, and Anderson and Langley Iverson each drilled shots to give the Grizzlies an 8-0 lead within the first two minutes.

Fallon finally scored on Katarina Olivo's shot under the basket, and Stephanie Wolfgang sunk a trey from the far side corner.

Ten turnovers plagued the Wave in the first quarter as Galena scored 10 points off five mistakes. Galena put together a 12-4 run to end the quarter.

Galena added to its lead in the second quarter and held a 35-14 advantage at halftime.

Amy Scott scored six points in the third quarter for Galena to power the visitors to a 44-19 lead midway through the fourth quarter. Fallon's Jessica Daum connected on two baskets, but Crofts responded with her fourth 3-pointer of the night.

With both teams clearing their benches in the forth quarter, Fallon outscored Galena 6-5.

Friel said she was nervous coming into Fallon. Prior to Saturday, Galena had lost three straight games on the Greenwave court.

Olivo and Wolfgang each scored seven points to lead Fallon, and Daum added four points.
