Democratic candidates for governor Dina Titus and Jim Gibson reported Wednesday matching city union endorsements.
Titus, Democratic minority leader of the state Senate, said the 1,100-member Las Vegas City Employees Association announced its support for her candidacy citing her record on education and her "support of working families."
"I am especially proud to have the support of men and women who provide essential services for our citizens," Titus said.
She said the association is the seventh organization to announce support for her.
Gibson countered with an endorsement from Teamsters Local 14, which represents 3,300 members, including the employees of Henderson where he is mayor.
The two are facing each other in the party primary for governor.
"You have proven to us that you have the integrity, fiscal responsibility, and true leadership to be the next governor of the State of Nevada," union officials said in their endorsement letter.
"Together, we have created a fair and thriving work environment for our employees. I am thrilled to accept this support," Gibson said.
