Nevada's Department of Health and Human Services is seeking applications from government, education and nonprofit groups that want to provide programs to help problem gamblers in the state.
The department's advisory committee on problem gambling has about $1 million in grant money available for programs ranging from workforce development and training to research, prevention and education.
The funds were appropriated by the 2005 Nevada Legislature, which created the Revolving Account for Prevention and Treatment of Problem Gambling.
