Ruth E. Humphrey, 89, an 18-year Carson City resident, died Feb. 12, 2006, at her home. She was born May 22, 1916, in Montana, to Hugh Douglas and Grace Hill.
She married Guy Humphrey on May 21, 1945, in Redwood City, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in South Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, and Fresno, Calif.
She graduated high school in Idaho and also attended two years of college there.
She was the owner-operator of a restaurant and bar.
She was a Christian and a member of the American Business Women's Association.
She enjoyed bowling, teaching bowling and helping people.
She was preceded in death by her brother Bud Douglas and her sister Betty.
Among her survivors are her husband, of Carson City; sons Walter and Mark Humphrey, both of Fresno; sister Margaret of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
