The following people were booked into the Carson City jail. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court.


• Jerrold Howerton, 33, of the 300 block of Grosh Avenue in Dayton was arrested at 7:22 p.m. Saturday at Graves and Gordon streets on suspicion of a gross misdemeanor warrant for battery on a peace officer and felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription. On Saturday, a deputy responded to the corner of Graves and Gordon on a child custody matter, where he met Howerton. The deputy ran a check on Howerton and discovered an outstanding warrant from Lyon County. After the suspect was booked, a jail employee allegedly discovered medication in Howerton's pants that he had no prescription for, and the deputy returned and booked him on that charge also.


• A 20-year-old auto body painter from Carson City was arrested 5:33 p.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Conestoga Street on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to appear in traffic court, misdemeanor failure to stop at a stop sign, misdemeanor no proof of insurance and misdemeanor no valid driver's license. Bail was set at $2,258.


• A 35-year-old laborer from Carson City as arrested at 3:02 a.m. Sunday at College Parkway and Research Road on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI first offense and misdemeanor no valid driver's license. Bail was set at $1,319.


• A 18-year-old homemaker mother from Carson City was arrested at 12:31 a.m. on Sunday in the 100 block of Harbin Drive, Carson City on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and misdemeanor minor consuming alcohol. Bail was set at $3,369.


• A 25-year-old security guard from Carson City was arrested at 6:54 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and misdemeanor obstructing. Bail was set at $644.


• A 25-year-old bookkeeper from Carson City was arrested at 7:18 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Maple Creek on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,132.


• A 39-year-old homeless man was arrested at 3:16 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Carson and John streets on suspicion of misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail was set at $500 cash.


• A 41-year-old bartender from Carson City was arrested at 7:02 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,000.


• A 19-year-old Lowe's employee from Carson City was arrested at 11:24 Saturday at Long and Molly streets in Carson city on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and misdemeanor minor in possession of alcohol. Bail was set at $1,369.




Lyon County


The following are some of the 73 calls to which deputies responded:


• A drunken driver was reported going eastbound on Highway 50 in Mound House at 1:03 a.m. Saturday.


• A report of a commercial burglary at 3000 block of Highway 95A in Silver Springs at 9:05 a.m. Saturday.


• A report of larceny in the 3500 block of Citrus St., Silver Springs, at 10:02 a.m. Saturday.


• A report of shots fired on Rawhide Street in Silver Springs at 1:29 a.m. Saturday.


• A report of a suicide attempt in the 10 block of Nordyke Road, Mason Valley, at 7:06 p.m. Saturday.


• A report of a missing person in the 7800 block of Santa Fe Trail, Stagecoach, at 7:21 p.m. Saturday.




Storey County


The following are some of the 16 calls to which deputies responded:


• A traffic stop at 8:20 a.m. Saturday at the Virginia City Gas Station on North C Street, Virginia City. Driver was issued a warning.


• A Mark Twain woman reported at 11:54 a.m. Saturday that sometime Wednesday she lost her green Amazon parrot named Spike. Deputies assisted as needed.


• A traffic stop at 1:09 p.m. Saturday at Peri Ranch Road, Lockwood. Citation issued.


• A Lockwood man reported a raccoon under his mobile home in the 400 block of Canyon Way. Deputies left a baited trap.


• A Lockwood woman reported a 13-year-old female has been making harassing phone calls. Report taken.
