A graveside service for Roy Lee Simpson, 79, a three-year Gardnerville resident, will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Walton's Carson Gardens.
Mr. Simpson died Feb. 22, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 11, 1926, in Wilmington, Calif., to Robert Lee Simpson and Gladys Faye Embry.
He married Nora Simpson in 1977.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Bullhead, Ariz.
He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Liane Simpson; and daughter, Joanne Spillman.
Burial will be at Walton's Carson Gardens.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
