State Library hosts Nevada art exhibit
The Nevada State Library and Archives, in conjunction with the Nevada Arts Council, is hosting an exhibit entitled "Nevada Landscape: The Painted Environment,"
Featured is the work of 16 Nevada painters, all featuring the landscape of Nevada.
The show is on display now and runs through April 3.
Admission is free.
The Nevada State Library is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

BLM advisory council to meet in Carson
The Bureau of Land Management Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council will meet at 9 a.m. March 2 at the BLM Carson City Field Office, 6556 Morgan Mill Road.

New Outreach Coordinator offers citizenship classes
Javier Ramirez, Carson City's citizen outreach coordinator, will offer U.S. citizenship classes at the Carson City Library. Classes begin March 2, and run for approximately 12 weeks.
Classes are offered in English, and will run from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays. A basic understanding of reading, writing and spoken English is required. Classes are free, but registration is required.

4-H Dog Club meets
The UNR Cooperative Extension's 4 Paws 4-H Dog Club is holding its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 2 at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall in Carson City.
The club is open to new members, and area youth ages 9-19 and their canines are invited to attend.
The club teaches members new techniques for dog obedience and plans several field trips throughout the year. Interested youth do not need to be a current member of 4-H.
