Quilt display to open Monday at WNCC

"Home Means Nevada," featuring challenge quilts from the Carson Valley Quilt Guild, will be on display in the College Gallery at Western Nevada Community College Bristlecone Building, from Monday through March 30.

Quilts on display will reflect the quilt makers' impressions of what Nevada means to them. The challenge means that all quilts must contain at least one blue fabric and one silver fabric, Nevada's state colors, in a recognizable form on the front. They may be no larger than 30 inches per side.

An artist's reception in the gallery will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday.

This display is in preparation for a larger quilt show, "Home Means Nevada," June 17-18 at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall. Approximately 175 quilts made by members of the guild will be on display, along with the Hoffman Challenge of dolls, a national traveling exhibit. Call 445-3238.
