A celebration of life for Elsie E. Hartley, 76, of Gardnerville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1480 Douglas Ave., Gardnerville. Internment will follow the service at Eastside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hartley died Jan. 8, 2006 in Reno. She was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Ypsilanti, Mich., to Gustave and Elizabeth Barth.
In 1947 she married Gordon "Bud" Wright.
They moved their family to Southern California in 1948, then moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., seven years later.
While in Santa Cruz, she worked at Costello's Chalet Restaurant in Felton, Calif., before moving to the Lipton Tea plant in Santa Cruz.
She moved to the Carson Valley upon retirement.
Her husband died in 1998. In 2001, she married Richard Hartley in Carson City.
She enjoyed dancing, animals, travel, fun and friends. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; daughters and sons-in-law Judy and John Gho and Susane and Bo Landon; granddaughters Jennifer Rogers and Elizabeth Estes; grandsons John Dani and Daniel Gho; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Leon Wolfe; sisters-in-law Dorothy Barth, MaeBelle Irey and Zealia Fields; step-children: Catherine Stapelfeld, Malinda Seagraves and Brian Hartley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
