Second passenger killed in crash identified

The second passenger killed in Sunday's plane crash near Mammoth Lakes has been identified as Carol Maki of San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Maki was one of three passengers aboard the four-seat Cherokee Piper plane that went down near Mammoth Lakes airport at approximately 2:34 p.m. on Sunday. Pilot Joseph Owens also died in the crash. Another passenger, William Hansult, survived the crash and is recovering at Washoe Medical Center in Reno.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
