A memorial service for Warren G. Knieriem, 78, a four-year Gardnerville resident, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Church in Zephyr Cove. A Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Knieriem died Jan. 17, 2006, in Reno. He was born March 24, 1927, in Reading, Pa., to Warren Knieriem and Lucy Kasander.
He married Charleen Knieriem in Los Angeles on Nov. 25, 1950 in Los Angeles.
Before moving to Gardnerville he lived in Fair Oaks, Calif.
He was a California firefighter and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He belonged to Our Lady of Tahoe Men's Fellowship, Cottonwood Homeowners Association, Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce, and Pinewild Homeowners Association.
He was preceded in death by his son David.
Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; children Chris Knieriem of Reno, Mary and husband Ken Taylor of Auburn, Calif., and Steve Knieriem of Citrus Heights, Calif.; sister Betsy Hook of St. George, Utah, nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Citrus Heights, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
