The Carson High boys and girls ski teams took advantage of excellent conditions to sweep North Valleys in the giant slalom at Mt. Rose on Tuesday.
Carson's boys won 86-59 and the CHS girls won 90-24. Both teams improved to 2-0. "Race conditions and snow on a scale from 1-10, it was an 11," Carson coach Jack Reinhardt said.
For the boys, Caleb McCoy was first in 33.1 seconds, Mike Aglietti took second in 34.1, J.P. McFarren was third in 34.8, Chris Browne was fifth in 35.1, Steve McCurdy took eighth in 336.9 and Colter Thomas was ninth in 37.3.
For the girls, Tatum Boehnke won in 34.5, Kacey Potter was second in 34.6, Jessica Goddard was third in 38.8, Megan Carter was fourth in 39.9, Yvette Hollett was fifth in 40.1 and Lisa Midboe was seventh in 42.3.
Carson's next event will be a key race at 12:30 p.m. at Slide Moutain against Reno High. The race could determine which school receives one of two spots from the Sierra League to the state championships.
