Looking for the best place to catch the fireworks in Carson City tonight? Talk to Mike Hughes, RSVP marketing and development director.
For the last 14 years, Hughes and RSVP have put on a fireworks show for Independence Day, along with a carnival that takes over Mills Park.
The fireworks are shot from behind the athletic fields at Carson High School, providing Mills Park with the best viewing spots for the show.
Lantis Fireworks, a Las Vegas-based company, is putting on the 15-20 minute fireworks display beginning at about 9:15 p.m. tonight. The total cost of the show is $12,000.
The carnival is put on by Inland Empire Shows, the same company that puts on the Mother's Day carnival for RSVP.
All proceeds from the fair go to support RSVP programs designed to assist homebound seniors in remaining independent and in their own homes.
