Daniel N. Blackstone, 60, a Carson City resident since April, died July 1, 2006, in Carson City.
Mr. Blackstone was born March 10, 1946, in New York to Stanley and Emily Blackstone.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Blackstone lived in Stockton, Calif.
He graduated from Elmira High School in Eugene, Ore., in 1964.
He worked from 1976-'77 for Bechtel Corp. in Indonesia, and later owned the Stockton Iron Works.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Seabees for two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tracy and Stockton Calif., and a member of the Lions Club in Linden, Calif.
He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, brewing beer and raising Rottweilers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his longtime companion, Deannie Escobar of Tracy; daughters Jenny and Amy Blackstone, both of Eugene; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Amy Escobar of Tracy; sister, Linda Blackstone-Orlandi of Eugene; brothers Richard Blackstone of Springfield, Ore., and Michael Blackstone of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and several close friends.
Memorial donations may be made to a local humane society or animal shelter.
