It didn't take long for Carson High graduate Dusty Bergman to be picked up after he was released by the New York Yankees Triple A affiliate, the Columbus Clippers, on Wednesday.
Immediate after he was released, Bergman was signed by the San Francisco Giants and placed on the roster of the Giants Triple A affiliate, the Fresno Grizzlies.
It will be the second stint for Bergman, a 1996 CHS graduate, with the Grizzlies. Bergman was traded from the Angels to the Giants late last season.
Bergman made 35 appearances as a relief pitcher for Columbus this season. In 35.2 innings, the left-handed pitcher allowed 45 hits, struck out 23 and walked 11 while posting a 3.79 earned run average with an 0-4 record and one save.
Bergman received a cup of coffee in the Major Leagues when he made one appearance with the Angels in 2004 and was named to the Pacific Coast League 2005 all-star team.
In the off season, Bergman was released by the Giants and picked up by the Yankees.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Tahoe Rim Trail Association trail maintenance program and the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks backcountry mountain bike safety patrol. The event is presented by the Tahoe Mountain Milers and Carson City-based Sagebrush Stompers.
