BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR, CALIF: Randy Picton of the Bridgeport Reservoir RV Park and Marina (888-377-1677): "Despite afternoon temps of 85, the fish continue to devour the bait for most anglers. Fly fishers doing especially well with damsel Nymphs, Scuds, and Callibatis. San Juan worms and snail imitations doing the job. Midgeing with a indicator is always a hit here. Reports of up to 5+ pounds, caught and released. Bait fishers using nightcrawlers and Power Baits with limits of 1-2.5 pounders. Trolling is still very good from the Marina to the dam. Try "Greg's flashers" with nightcrawlers, black and silver Rapala, or red pattern Thomas Buoyant lures, 2-7 feet down.

EAGLE LAKE, CALIF: Dave Meserve of the Eagle Lake Marina (530-825-3454): Fishing has started to become much more predictable as the fish settle into the south basin of the lake. Best results are from boats at depths from 20 to 35 feet. For trolling, Sure Catch lures seem to be the hot number followed closely by Needlefish, Sepp's Brown Grubs, and rainbow Runners. Use of slip bobbers for still fishing and trolling with down riggers or lead-core line works best this time of year. Fish continue to weigh in between 2 and 4 pounds. Best times to fish are in the early morning hours. Best results have been coming from the Eagles Nest area, Wildcat Point and in front of the jetty at Eagle Lake Marina.
FEATHER RIVER, CALIF: Dave Jacobs/Hank Mautz (Professional Guide Service) (800-355-3113) or (530-365-8140): Anglers looking for big, bright salmon can expect better fishing conditions with the increased flows and arrival of large schools of salmon in the past few days. Anglers can expect best bite early in the mornings and late in the evenings back bouncing sardine-wrapped K-15, K-16 Kwikfish or roe with a Quickie.
FRENCHMAN RESERVOIR, CALIF: Wiggin's Trading Post at Chilcoot, Calif. (530-993-4683): Water is warming up, now. Catfish are plentiful now. Good fishing, if you like them.
