Carson Pop Warner board meeting today

Carson City Pop Warner will hold its monthly board meeting on at 6 p.m. today at the football shack located at Governor's Field.

Football and cheerleading practice begins Monday, Aug. 7. Carson City Pop Warner Opening Day is Saturday, Aug. 19 at Governor's Field, beginning at 9 a.m. The Pop Warner Jamboree is Saturday, Aug. 26 at Carson High School.

Dayton Chamber golf tournament set

The 13th annual Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at Dayton Valley Golf Club.

Shotgun start for the four-person modified scramble is 8:30 a.m. Cost is $110 per player and includes continental breakfast, polo shirt, awards banquet, drawing prizes, green fees with cart, range balls and mulligans. There will also be men's and women's closest to the pin contests and men's and women's accurate drive contests.

Hole-in-one sponsors include Carson Jeep Nissan offering a 2006 Jeep Liberty, Heavenly Times Hot Tubs and Billiards offering an Arctic Spa valued at $9,000 and a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call 246-7909.
