Reason for running: Titus will carry her environmental legacy to the governor's office with a plan to safeguard Nevada's environment and improve the quality of life by identifying and remediating toxic pollution, maintaining opposition to interim or permanent storage of high-level nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, promoting development and use of alternative energy sources and balancing water demands of Nevada's growing urban areas with the needs of rural areas.
She says Nevada must overhaul its strategy for attracting and developing new kinds of businesses and industries if it is going to meaningfully improve wages and the standard of living for Nevada families. There is no issue more critical to Nevada's future than improving its education system. She said educating our children well is the foundation for an economy that attracts companies with better-paying jobs.
She has called for governmental ethics reform, proposing 12 steps to restore public confidence in state and local government in Nevada.
