Phone number: (702) 251-3246

Family: Wife, Lesley, expecting first child.

Religious or civic organizations you belong to: Past president of Citizen Alert, fighting nuclear waste coming to Nevada; board member of HELP of Southern Nevada; member of the Board of the Legacy Society for the Boys and Girls Clubs.

Reason for running: Election reform. Make it a felony to destroy voter registration forms or to intimidate voters at their polling place. Make any major violations of Nevada's campaign laws a felony. These steps will show not only voters, but would-be violators that Nevada is serious about the integrity of its election process. Other highlights of the plan are to prohibit ballot questions that have been rejected by voters from re-appearing on the ballot for six years; require the electronic filing of contributions made in the last four weeks of the election; and raise the standards for qualifying and passing Constitutional amendments.

I don't want to stop the people's access to the referendum and initiative process, but I also don't want Nevada to be the proving ground for every idea special interests around the country want to see passed.
