The Six Mile fire continues to threaten homes and power lines in the area of Mark Twain, with more than 200 residential buildings in its path.

However, officials say they hope to quell the fire before it reaches any structures and no evacuations have been ordered as of 11:15 a.m.

The fire is also destroyed several power lines running through the canyon Saturday night and power to Carson City could be affected throughout the day.

A Type I Great Basin Incident Management Team is moving into place from the Jackass fire and will assume command of the Six Mile fire at 6:00 this evening. A command post has been established at Dayton High School.

More updates as information becomes available.
