River Advisory Committee meets Wednesday


The Carson River Advisory Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E William St.


Included during this meeting is possible recommendations to the board about the Carson River Aquatic Trail Plan, which will be added to the United Pathways Master Plan. Other topics include prioritizing Question 1 state grant funding needs, discussing proposed trails along the Carson River in Carson River Canyon near Deer Run Road, and setting dates for work days.




Historic Resources Commission to meet


The Historic Resources Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E William St.


Among items scheduled: an application to allow a new medical office building at 412 S. Division St. and consideration of future certified local government grants for Carson City.


Carson City Democrats to meet Wednesday


The Carson City Democrats will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 709 E. Robinson St. The Carson City Democrats meet the first Wednesday of the month at the State of Nevada Employees Association Conference Room. Call 829-1699 or visit www.nvdems.com.

Antler basketmaking demonstration Thursday


There will be a demonstration on making baskets using antlers from 1-3 p.m. at the Nevada State Museum on Thursday by Billie Walker, basketmaker. Cost is the regular fee for the museum. Museum is at 600 N. Carson St. Call 687-4810 or visit www.NevadaCulture.org.




'Boomers on Bikes' rides through Carson City


"Boomers on Bikes," a two-month cross-country bicycling adventure to raise money for the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission, will be riding through Carson City on Thursday and Friday.
