Josie Gilbertson recently fired a hole-in-one at Silver Oak Golf Club. She used a 7-iron from the red tee box on the 99-yard sixth hole. Norma Pusqua, Kathy Toscani and Rita Buckman witnessed the feat.
WNCC golf event slated for Aug. 7
The ninth annual Western Nevada Community College/Greater Nevada Credit Union Golf Classic will be held Monday, Aug. 7 at Thunder Canyon Golf Course. Check-in is at 8 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 9 a.m.
The kickoff party will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Casino Fandango and includes complimentary beer and wine, hors d'oeuvres, door prizes, live music and a chance to win free golf rounds.
The tournament will include prizes for holes-in-one provided by Dick Campagni Automotive Group and Michael's Cycle Works. There will also bee tee prizes, continental breakfast, awards barbecue and on-course refreshments.
