The Carson Valley Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament, annual Carson Valley Inn Mixed Scramble Tournament, and the Inn's Fall Fun Stag Outing all provide great opportunities to enjoy golf in the Carson Valley.
Carson Valley Inn Group Golf Packages offer a variety of options for groups of 12 to 150. Golf choices are plentiful with four courses in the immediate area: The Lakes and the Resort courses at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club, Sunridge Golf Club and Carson Valley Golf Course. Also nearby are Edgewood Tahoe and the five other Divine 9 Courses.
The Carson Valley Charity Pro-Am is Sunday and Monday, August 27 and 28 with golf at the two Genoa Lakes courses and all proceeds going to the formation of the Boys and Girls Club of Carson Valley. Sanctioned by the Northern California and Sierra Nevada Chapters of the PGA, this event features five-man teams with one pro and four amateurs competing for $10,000 in merchandise and cash prizes.
$3,500 in cash prizes are up for grabs at the Carson Valley Inn Mixed Scramble Tournament on Sept. 8-10. The weekend includes an optional Friday practice round, Friday evening reception and draw party, Saturday golf at Empire Ranch Golf Course, and a Saturday-night awards banquet.
The Carson Valley Inn's Fall Fun Stag Golf Outing for foursomes will be held on Oct. 19-21. There's a Thursday evening reception, golf on Friday and Saturday at the two Genoa Lakes courses and a Saturday night banquet.
Golf groups staying at the Carson Valley Inn can choose from 11 area courses offering 207 holes of play. There's a full variety of course challenges (men's tee slopes range from 108 to 143), prices ($33 to $100+), and designers (John Harbottle, Peter Jacobsen, Johnny Miller, and Arnold Palmer).

Thomas and Navarro shoot holes-in-one
Gloria Thomas and Trini Navarro both recently shot holes-in-one at local golf courses.
Thomas fired her ace at Sunridge Golf Club, using a 9-iron on the 86-yard 15th hole. Her husband, Frank Thomas, witnessed the shot.
Navarro shot her ace at Silver Oak Golf Club, using an 8-iron from the white tee on the 137-yard 12th hole. Jerod Meyers witnessed the shot.
