Carson High graduate Vince Inglima earned two prestigious honors to close his career as he was named as the 2005-2006 California Collegiate Athletic Association's Male Athlete of the Year and he was also named as an All-American.
Inglima was chosen as the conference's Athlete of the Year be the league's sports information directors. This past season as a senior, Inglima led the Sonoma State men's basketball team to an 18-9 record, including a 16-4 league mark that earned the school's first CCAA championship and NCAA Division II Championship tournament appearance.
He was fifth in the CCAA in scoring (16 points a game), sixth in field goal percentage (.533), second in free-throw percentage (.812) and 10th in three-pointers made (1.63 per game).
Inglima was named CCAA Most Valuable Player and was an All-CCAA First Team selection.
A consensus All-West Region selection, Inglima earned Fourth Team All-American honors and participated in the National Association Basketball Coaches Division II All-Star Game. Additionally, he earned Sonoma State's Male Athlete of the Year award.
