Nevada's annual Rural Roundup Tourism Conference will be held April 5-7 in Carson City.

Roger Brooks, a tourism development specialist from Olympia, Wash., will deliver the keynote address: Ten things you Need to Know to Create a Successful Brand.

About 250 delegates are expected to attend the conference at the Piñon Plaza, 2171 Highway 50 East. Tourism Commission Chairwoman Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt said Brooks is a recognized expert on ways to draw more visitors and increase tourism revenue.

She said there will be a variety of other activities to help Nevada's rural communities develop their tourist economies, including a presentation on how to package history for tourism and one on marketing to attract the international tourist.
