Jaycees ask for community to support annual egg hunt


The Carson City Jaycees are asking community members to donate for the 30th annual Easter Egg Hunt. There are two hunts: One for the general public and one for special needs children.


Several kinds of donations can be accepted, including gift certificates, Easter candy, baskets, stuffed animals, money or time. Donations can be sent to Carson City Jaycees, P.O. Box 21171, Carson City, NV 89721. Call 883-8782.


Daughters of Norway to meet


The Daughters of Norway Queen Maud Lodge No. 42 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, corner of Saliman Road and Highway 50 East. Women are invited to join who are of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic heritage or who are married or have been married to someone of Norwegian heritage. Call 883-1710.




4-H seeks new horse club members


The Carson City Savvy Riders 4-H Horse Club is accepting new members at their next meeting, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bordewich-Bray Elementary School in Carson City. This program is for youth aged 9-19. Those interested do not need to be a current member of 4-H. Call 887-2252 or 883-5929.

SIERA radio group meets Thursday


The Sierra Intermountain Emergency Radio Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church. Guests are welcome.


SIERA meets on the third Thursday of every month.


Dayton and Mound House


NV50 to hold 'Buckle Up - Slow Down' campaign


In honor of Rachel French, former NV50 patron, and other traffic fatalities within the past months, NV50 Nightclub and Restaurant will be holding a "Buckle Up - Slow Down" campaign through Monday.


Using the facility's large LED sign and signs bought from local Carson High School's student campaign "Slow Down, Kids Matter," NV50 hopes to raise awareness to the thousands of cars that travel daily on Highway 50 near NV50, many of which drive faster than the 45 mph speed limit.


Handouts for the Rachel French Memorial Fund are available at NV50. Call 742-7300 or 291-3449.

There will be a Dayton Area Chamber Mixer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dayton Community Center at 170 Pike St., sponsored by Healthy Communities.
