ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - Sonoma State senior Vince Inglima of Carson City has been selected to participate in the inaugural NCAA Division II/National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Men's Baskertball All-Star Game. The event will be held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., on Friday, March 24 in conjunction with the Division II Elite Eight.
The 20 participants in the All-Star game were chosen from a pool of 265 teams in Division II. The All-Star team will also attend a brunch before the Division II championship game and take part in a presentation at halftime of the championship game. Inglima, a senior, was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Player Of The Year after leading Sonoma State to its first CCAA championship with a 16-4 record in conference play. The Seawolves (18-9 overall) advanced to the NCAA West Regional Tournament before they were eliminated by Cal State Bakersfield in the first round.
The Carson City native led Sonoma with 16 points per game and was a First Team All-CCAA selection as well as a First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection. Inglima led the Seawolves in scoring in 15 of their 27 games and he hit double figures 20 times.
After just a two-year career at Sonoma State, Inglima finished 14th in school history in scoring with 747 points. He also closed out his career second in three-point percentage and as the all-time leader with a free throw percentage of .825.
