Democratic congressional candidate Jill Derby has called on Congress to eliminate new Medicare taxes aimed at America's seniors.
"With this new Medicare tax, Congress has shifted the burden from millionaires onto the backs of America's seniors," Derby said.
Under the Medicare plan, seniors must choose a prescription drug plan by May 15 - now less than 60 days away - or face higher premiums. The law imposes an additional 1 percent in costs for every month seniors delay making a plan selection.
"This Congress has thrown the tax burden on the backs of those who have already paid their dues and contributed so much to this country. It's time for a change in Washington."
