A Carson City man was in custody Tuesday on suspicion of drug charges and firing his weapon on Moses Street.

Kevin Michael Maslow, 21, is being held in the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony possession of marijuana for sale, misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and discharging of a firearm.

According to Sgt. Bob White, Maslow said he was outside his apartment in the 500 block of Moses Street about 10:48 p.m. Monday when he was attacked by two unknown men. White said Maslow called for his girlfriend to bring him his gun, then allegedly fired at least three shots at the assailants who fled.

Gary Wood, who lives on the Carson Indian Colony across the street, said at least one of those bullets pierced his living room wall and struck a lamp. The family heard the gunshots Monday night, but didn't discover they'd fallen victim until Tuesday while vacuuming.

"What if that had hit someone?" asked Wood, who last year had fought the construction of the tri-plex in which Maslow lived. "Now I'm starting to get really concerned. Will he be coming back here to live? I don't want that."

When deputies entered Maslow's apartment they allegedly saw a pipe with marijuana in it sitting on a dresser. Also recovered was at least a pound of marijuana, materials for packaging marijuana for sale, $3,900 in cash and two guns, according to the arrest report.

Maslow, who suffered a cut ear and a broken wrist during the fight, was treated at the hospital before being booked into the Carson City Jail.

He is being held on $11,496 bail.

The two assailants have not been identified.
