Nevada's Annual Rural Roundup Tourism Conference begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Piñon Plaza resort on Highway 50 East. Tourism development expert Roger Brooks will share his 10 top ideas for actions communities can take to attract more visitors. Activities begin Wednesday with a Ghost Walk Tour through Carson City's downtown historic district to demonstrate to delegates how to package history for tourism, and a welcome reception at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. On Thursday delegates will hear the keynote address, a presentation about rural Nevada and the international arena. The annual awards to tourism volunteers for exceptional achievement will be presented at dinner. On Friday delegates will tour of the Nevada State Museum, the Capitol, Nevada Legislature and Nevada State Library and Archives. Summit Awards at the Peppermill Hotel Casino, 2707 S.
