A late-night Dayton shooting left a woman critically injured and Lyon County investigators searching for her husband.

A shooting happened just before 10 p.m. on Boulder Circle, blocks from Dayton High School.

According to Detective Rob Hall with the Lyon County Sheriff's Department, police believe the woman's husband, Christopher Deyerle, 25, is responsible.

Lt. John Arndell said the couple was in front of the home of the woman's parents possibly discussing divorce when the shooting occurred. The victim's father heard shots, ran outside, saw his daughter wounded and chased Deyerle but was unable to catch him.

Deyerle is described as being 5'8" tall and 195 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen leaving the area on foot wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken by Care Flight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center with two gunshot wounds. Her condition is unknown.
