Railroad museum hosts 'Altoona' presentation

Ormsby County official honored at tree planting


There will be a tree planting in honor of former Ormsby County Commissioner Ted Imus, at 11 a.m. today at Fuji Park, 601 Old Clear Creek Road. A luncheon at the Father's Heart Christian Fellowship, 480 Clear Creek Ave. will follow. RSVP to 884-0423 or 690-2234.


Women's group meets for 'Hats Off' garden party


The Capital Women's Connection will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Q's Restaurant, 230 Fairview Drive.

RTC meets this evening


The Carson City Regional Transportation Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, 851 E. William St. Possible action is scheduled on: Speeding near the intersection of Northridge and Ridgecrest drives, the Stewart Street extension, and an interlocal agreement with Douglas County for maintenance of a proposed highway connecting Clear Creek Road to Highway 50.




Redevelopment citizens group meets today


The Carson City Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the Capitol Conference Room at City Hall, 201 N. Carson St. Enter the building from Musser Street. Scheduled items include presentations about Envision Carson City, urban code development, "Community Challenges Downtown" and "Debunking Myths About Downtown."




United Blood Services holds Mother's Day celebration


Today is Mother's Day at the United Blood Service, and it will be celebrated with a tea party in honor of donors and mothers. United Blood Services is at 256 E. Winnie Lane. For information or an appointment, call 887-9111.
