A funeral for Belle Thurston, 97, a Yerington resident, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington.
Mrs. Thurston died May 14, 2006 in Santa Maria, Calif. She was born July 19, 1908 in Farnham, England to Charles James and Kate Trickett Price.
Before moving to Yerington with her husband, Harold Thurston, in 1957, she lived in California.
She worked for The Emporium for many years, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
She enjoyed creating art and spending time with her family.
Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Lorraine and Pat Stratton of Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada, Alice and John Shipley of Yerington, Jackie and Bob Hansen of Solvang, Calif., and Dene and Rich Kay of Reno; sister Peg Robbie of Kingston, Ontario, Canada; numerous grandchildren and extended-family members.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
