Street rodders meet in Carson City today


Obsolete Iron Street Rods, a pre-1949 car club, will be holding a get-together for street rodders to meet each other by Stew's Lucky Spur at 302 N. Carson St. Proctor Street will be blocked off for rod parking. There is a $20 entry fee to go to benefit the Carson High School Safe Grad party. Call 883-0889.




Learn to 'Junk the Junipers'


UNR's Cooperative Extension will be offering residents less flammable plants in exchange for junipers removed from their defensible-space area free of charge from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday at the UNR Cooperative Extension office at 2721 Northgate Lane No. 15. For information, call 887-2252.




Carson City Symphony to hold 'Symphony of Flavors'


The Carson City Symphony will be holding their "Symphony of Flavors," featuring music, catered dinner and wine at 4 p.m. today at the Brewery Arts Center. Cost for adults is $25 for the concert and $25 for dinner or $40 for both, and youth under 16 are free for the concert and $15 for dinner. Call 883-4154.

Fire burning season coming to a close
