Krysta Palmer of Jacks Valley advanced to the finals in the junior women's Double-Mini Trampoline event at the Cup of Flanders recently held in Ghent, Belgium.
She placed eighth in the finals out of a field of 36 competitors representing more than 20 nations.
Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics said, "We are very encouraged with the strength of the performances of the juniors."
Palmer's coach, Mig O'Hara owner of Legacy Trampoline & Tumbling in Sparks said, "Krysta turned in outstanding performances on both the trampoline and the double-mini trampoline. This was just her first international competition and she has a very promising future in this sport."
Palmer's upcoming competitions include the Regional Championships in Rocklin, Calif., the Elite Challenge in Las Vegas, and the National Championships in Chicago. Her next international competition will be in Russia in November.

Pop Warner signups set for Saturday
Carson City Pop Warner Football has scheduled its last signups for players and cheerleaders for Saturday, May 20.
Signups will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Governor's Field football shack. On June 1 the fee will increase to $175 per participant.
Registration paperwork is available on th website at www.carsoncitypopwarner.org. All fees must be paid in full by Aug. 1. Volunteers are also needed.
