A graveside service for Rev. Clara Elizabeth Saunders, 80, will be 2 p.m. today at Mountain View Cemetery, 435 Stoker Ave. in Reno.
Rev. Saunders died Oct. 30, 2006, at the Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, N.C.
She was born to Joseph and Flossie Edmisten Robbins.
She had evangelized overseas in Africa and Rio de Janeiro. She belonged to the Church of God for 65 years, and pastored several churches, as well as organizing and building more than 50 churches throughout the United States including on in Carson City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Herman Saunders; by son Douglas Saunders; and by daughter Loretta Gail Saunders.
Among her survivors are daughters Patricia Coffey of Lebanon, Tenn., and Carol Elizabeth Saunders of Newland, N.C.; son Robert M. Saunders of Newland; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
A funeral was held Nov. 4, 2006, at the Pineola Church of God with the Rev. Roy Barnwell officiating in North Carolina.
Walton's Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
