PRO-DEX, Inc. has announced financial results for the first quarter ending Sept. 30, 2006.


Consolidated net sales for the first quarter were $5.2 million, an increase of 39 percent compared to the first quarter of fiscal 2006. Net income was $242,000 or $0.03 per basic and $0.02 per diluted share, compared to a net income of $262,000, or $0.03 per basic and diluted share for the first quarter last year.


In calculated earnings per share, the company utilized 9.8 million fully diluted shares for the fiscal 2006 first quarter and 10.0 million diluted shares for the 2006 fiscal first quarter. Gross profit for the first quarter was $2 million.




NAIOP launches new chapter in Northern Nevada


A group of locally based commercial real estate professionals have formed the Northern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).


The chapter was formed to provide a voice to access the broad range of issues resulting from continued growth in the region. The Northern Nevada chapter has 62 members. For information, visit www.naiop.org/northern_nevada/.




Patricia Wade appointed member of NCED


Gov. Kenny Guinn has appointed Patricia "Patty" Wade, president and co-owner of Wade Development Company, Inc., as a member of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.


She serves on several key boards in northern Nevada, including the University of Nevada Foundation Board, the Truckee Meadows Community College Foundation Executive Board of Trustees, and the Reno/Tahoe International Airport Executive Task Force.


She will replace Berlyn Miller, who served on the commission for 15 years.




Leadership Carson City accepting 2007 applications


The Leadership Carson City class of 2006 will be graduating Dec. 14 after 10 months of learning how Carson City operates. The 2007 session is accepting applications through Dec. 19.


It meets the second Thursday of every month during the year between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.


The kickoff will be the evening of Feb. 8, 2007, and will end Nov. 8, 2007. Only 20 people are accepted for this course. For information, call 882-1565.




Nevada Commission on Tourism to honor 41 businesses


The Nevada Commission on Tourism is honoring 41 Nevada businesses with Tourism Development Awards for expanding or starting new facilities or services to draw visitors to the state.


Each recipient will be honored at the Governor's Conference on Tourism on Dec. 12 at the Silver Legacy in Reno, and will receive a plaque and certificate signed by Gov. Kenny Guinn; Hunt, NCOT chair and Bruce Bommarito, NCOT director.


The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City and Pony Express Stables in Genoa are among those who will be honored.
