Henry "Hank" Wilkinson, 90, a 50-year Bishop, Calif., resident, died Nov. 9, 2006, at his daughter's home in Carson City.
He was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Elizabeth, Neb., to William and Elizabeth (Eohling) Wilkinson.
Before moving to Bishop, Mr. Wilkinson lived in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
He married Shirley Troxel in Pasadena, Calif., on June 5, 1946.
He worked as a body fender man for Kelsey Chevrolet in San Gabriel, Calif.
He later started his own business, Inyo Mono Body Shop, retiring in 1981.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-45 during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of the Bishop Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Lodge BPOE in Bishop. He enjoyed fishing and his junkyard.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; companion Irene Nichols of Bishop; son Tib Wilkinson of Bishop; daughter Jill Thomsen of Carson City; sisters Maxine Hook of Las Cruces, N.M., Lyda Haglan of Reno, Lois Winkler of Reno, Wilma Hild of Redding, Calif., and Carol Coleman of Lodi, Calif.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
