Fallon teenager charged in beating of Wadsworth woman

FALLON - A male teen is expected to plead not guilty Tuesday to four felonies linked to the severe beating of a Wadsworth woman last month.

Cameron Tom-Ray Allen, 18, appeared in district court this week, but couldn't enter a plea because his attorney was not present. District Judge David A. Huff postponed Allen's arraignment one week.

Allen is charged with first-degree kidnapping causing substantial bodily harm, battery with intent to kill and battery causing substantial bodily harm. An alternative charge - first-degree kidnapping without substantial bodily harm - was filed against Allen to give a jury a choice on the extent of the alleged injuries to the victim.

Allen was arrested Oct. 26 on Stillwater Road after the Churchill County Sheriff's Department assisted tribal police in a domestic-battery call.

According to court records filed in connection with Allen's arrest, he is accused of dragging Natasha Love across a street into a field, where she was severely beaten.

The documents state Love suffered a serious laceration to her ear, a dislocated shoulder, broken collar bone, and multiple scratches and bruises to her face, arms, abdomen and feet.

A criminal complaint filed against Allen states he told Love, "You are going to die tonight" as he allegedly hit, kicked, and stomped her.

Love testified at a preliminary hearing in Churchill County Justice Court on Nov. 9.

Churchill County Deputy District Attorney Craig Mingay said the victim testified about her injuries, saying dirt was stuffed into her mouth and nose during the alleged assault. She managed to get away and run to a nearby house for help.

Love was living on the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Reservation with Allen at the time, Mingay said.

"The pictures would make you sick," Mingay said about photos of Love's injuries used as evidence.

If convicted, Allen faces life in prison on either of the kidnapping charges. He also faces two to 20 years in prison on the charge of battery with intent to kill and one to five years in prison on the charge of battery causing substantial bodily harm.

Allen remains in the Churchill County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
