Three young women chosen as Girls of the Month by Soroptimists

Soroptimist International of Carson City has selected its Girl of the Month awards for September, October and November.

Anna Macquarie has been chosen the Girl of the Month for September; Meredith Adler is the Girl of the Month for October, and Ashley Boyd is the Girl of the Month for November.

Each month, an outstanding senior class girl at Carson High School is selected to be honored for her efforts and achievements in her home, school and community.

The young women were recently honored at a luncheon with the Soroptimists.

A $1,000 scholarship was recently added to the Girl of the Month program. After selection of nine Girls of the Month, one will be chosen at the end of the school year for the scholarship.

Applications for the award program, which is open to all senior girls, are available at Carson High School's guidance office.

Soroptimist International of Carson City is composed of women business executives and professional women, associated primarily for service to others.

Soroptimist members are committed to opportunities for the young and focus on their needs in our community through recognition of youth programs.
