Businesses rally for regional exposition at Appeal

Technology companies die easily, but locally operated JFG Systems endures, said Cheryle Schaum, sales and marketing manager.

She's seen the number of IT companies represented at the annual regional business and tech expo dwindle to the strong few in the last three years of the expo's operation.

"We want people to know that we're still here," she said Monday. "We're not going anywhere, and we're getting bigger."

JFG has added three employees in the last year. The business also offers enterprise solutions services, which has been known to be priced for Fortune 500 companies, at prices accessible to small businesses.

"I'm looking forward to seeing a whole bunch of new faces from the Carson business community and those coming out to see what's available to them in their own home town," Schaum said.

Northern Nevada's Regional Business & Tech Expo will feature more than 95 Northern Nevada companies exhibiting their products and services at the Nevada Appeal building 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Diamond sponsor Wells Fargo will give the keynote presentation 3-4 p.m. on the topic of business opportunities. Other seminar speakers include: Brian Stegall on equipment acquisition, Michael Olson on technology financing, Steve Kellar on construction programs and Julie Hill on reverse mortgages. The networking mixer starts at 4 p.m.
