Kayla Sanchez scored three goals as the Carson High girls soccer team had no trouble posting a 5-0 win at North Valleys on Saturday.
"All in all the girls played really well," said Carson coach Randy Roser about his team that improved to 9-0-2 in the Sierra League. Sanchez scored on an assist from Brandy Cantley and scored again on an assist from Brandi Vega to give Carson a 2-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Vega scored on an assist from Anna Macquarie, Sanchez scored on an assist from Kat Von Rumpf and Allie Collier scored her first goal on varsity on an assist by Justine Von Rumpf.
Cantley had to leave the game due to an illness, but Roser said Samantha Fisburn played well defensively in her place. Belle Fleming and Macquarie also played well defensively.
Carson was also without midfielder Danielle Moos, who attended her previous school's Homecoming, but Roser said Taylor Musselman, Amanda Osborne and Becca Kane more than picked up the slack. Goalies Jennifer Johnson and Carly Mathat combined for the shutout.
