The Carson High volleyball team overcame a slow start to clinch a spot in the Northern 4A playoffs.
Carson won 12-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-11 on Thursday at South Tahoe to clinch fourth in the Sierra League and a spot in the playoffs.
"We actually did really well," Carson coach Shana Wilkins said. "We just started really slow."
"They played well," said Wilkins about the Vikings in the first game. "The first game kind of surprised us. We just started to really pick it up."
Kailey Taylor had 13 kills and one block, Nikki Keller had seven kills, nine blocks and one dig, Lindsay Ford had five digs, six blocks, one kill and 31 assists, Danae Eckart had three kills, four digs and one block and Shannon Earwood had five kills, nine digs, one block and one ace for Carson (7-5 in the Sierra League).
