Ride the Halloween Express today


Trick-or-Treaters of all ages are invited to ride the first-ever Halloween Express beginning at 6 p.m. tonight at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St. Trains will depart every 40 minutes. There will also be activities at the depot. Call 687-6953.




Evergreen to hold trick-or-treating


Evergreen Mountain View Care Center will be holding a "Trick Or Treat Ghoulish Fun Night" from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday. Parents may bring their children to trick or treat. Call 883-3622.




Community band to hold free concert today at museum


The Capital City Community Band will be holding a free concert from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Call 883-2219.




Grimes Castle to hold Myspace party, open Halloween


Grimes Castle, located in the vacant Wal-Mart building, will be holding a Myspace party at 6:30 p.m. Monday for their Myspace friends. Cost is $8 with a pass from their Myspace page and an RSVP. Dake House to offer tours, readings and seances for Halloween


The Dake House in Genoa will be offering Spirit Tours, personal readings and seances at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the house, 2242 Main St. in Genoa. The Dake House is one of Nevada's oldest haunted houses, built by Genoa's first undertaker. A tour of the house costs $5 per person. Call 782-4951.

Goblin Parade planned for Halloween night


The second annual Goblin Parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Virginia City Jerky Co., 204 S. C Street on Halloween night. Registration and lineup will begin at 4 p.m.


Cash prizes will be given for costumes for both children and adults. Categories are Best Overall Costume, Scariest Costume and Most Original Costume.


There will also be a prize for the Best Float or Vehicle. For an entry form, call 847-4768 and leave a message.
